MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers)
MOPS meets at Cumberland Community Church from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on the first and third Tuesday mornings of each month from September through May. In addition, planned social activities take place throughout the year.
This ministry is open to any mother with children under school age, from infancy to kindergarten. MOPS recognizes that these years are fundamental in a mother-child relationship and are filled with many unique needs. MOPS exists to meet the needs of every mother -- young, old, single, married -- who share a similar desire to be the very best moms they can be!
For more information about Cumberlands MOPS program on how to register and the fees involved, contact the MOPS voicemail box at 770-952-8834, ext. 85, our Coordinator (Sarah Nicolet), or our website at http://sites.google.com/site/cumberlandmops/.
WHAT IS MOPS?
MOPS groups provide encouragement, support, teaching and friendships. In these relationships, moms find answers to their simple, everyday dilemmas and discover a safe place to explore deeper principles for life-building. MOPS groups provide support for moms in an accepting atmosphere where they are reminded that they are not alone
WHAT HAPPENS AT A MOPS MEETING?
. Enjoy refreshments
. Participate in creative activities
. Hear speakers discuss relevant topics for busy moms
. Develop relationships in discussion groups with other moms
HOW MUCH DOES MOPS COST?
Your first meeting is free. We simply request that you make a childcare reservation. Because our MOPS meetings include refreshments, crafts, monthly publications, and childcare, we charge fees to help cover these costs. These include a one-time $23.95 registration fee for MOPS International, and semester or yearly dues. The $23.95 registration fee is sent directly to MOPS International and provides many benefits to registered moms. However, if these fees are a financial burden, you may contact the Coordinator. MOPS International provides registration scholarships, and CCC MOPS offers several financial options to help any mother of a preschooler who would like to attend.
HOW ARE MY CHILDREN INVOLVED?
Children are cared for during MOPS meetings in a separate program called MOPPETS. In this program, children experience love in a preschool-like setting. Through a Bible-based curriculum, children hear stories, learn songs and experience hands-on activities
